Gas prices in Texas have dropped to $3.513 per gallon, marking a 0.54% decrease from last week. This brings the state’s average to 12.31% below the national average of $4.006 per gallon, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
This is the second consecutive week of falling gas prices in Texas. The current price of $3.513 is the lowest observed in the past four weeks, representing a 0.93% decrease from the highest point in this period, which was $3.644 per gallon.
Texas continues to stand out as one of the most affordable states for gas in the country. The state’s current average is not only significantly lower than the national average but also the cheapest in the nation, contrasting sharply with California, where drivers are paying the highest average of $5.428 per gallon.
For context, the national average for diesel stands at $5.257 per gallon. The gap between gas and diesel prices remains substantial, reflecting broader trends in fuel markets.
