A Severe Flash Flood Warning is in effect for northeastern Hopkins County, Texas, until 10:00 AM CDT on July 8, 2026. The warning was issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth.
The affected areas include Saltillo, Pine Forest, Weaver, Flora, and Dike. The warning is in effect due to thunderstorms producing heavy rain, with between 2 and 4 inches of rain already fallen.
A Flash Flood Warning indicates that flooding is already occurring or will occur shortly. This may lead to rapid rises in small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses, as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
For safety, contact emergency services at 911 if needed. Follow guidance from the NWS and local authorities. Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads, as most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Stay away from river banks and culverts, which can become unstable and unsafe.
