A Severe Flash Flood Warning is in effect for Delta and Lamar counties in Texas until 4:15 AM CDT on July 7, 2026, as issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth.
The warning covers southwestern Lamar County and Delta County. At 2:13 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
A Flash Flood Warning indicates that flooding is imminent or occurring. Small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses, as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas, may experience flash flooding.
For safety, be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and do not drown. Stay informed by monitoring updates from the NWS and local authorities. In case of an emergency, dial 911.
