San Antonio’s culinary scene is about to get a sophisticated yet approachable addition. Sixty Vines, a renowned wine bar and restaurant concept from the Dallas-based FB Society is set to open its doors in Northwest San Antonio’s La Cantera development on Monday, August 10.

The new establishment will be located at 15900 La Cantera Parkway marking the fourth concept from FB Society to join the vibrant La Cantera scene, alongside Whiskey CakeHaywire and Ida Claire.

An Innovative Approach to Wine and Dining

Sixty Vines stands out with its unique wine-on-tap system, offering a global selection of 60 wines that include reds, whites, and rosés. This innovative approach not only ensures freshness but also significantly reduces waste, saving over 450,000 bottles annually from landfills. Each keg holds the equivalent of 26 bottles and can be reused approximately 1,500 times.

The restaurant’s philosophy revolves around making wine discovery fun and approachable a concept they affectionately call pinkies down. This laid-back atmosphere is designed to encourage patrons to explore new wines without the pretension often associated with traditional wine bars.

A Menu Inspired by Wine Country

The menu at Sixty Vines is carefully crafted to complement its extensive wine selection. Guests can enjoy a variety of dishes inspired by classic recipes from the world’s great grape-growing regions. Highlights include hand-tossed pizzas, charcuterie boards, crisp salads, and heartier options like Atlantic salmon, rainbow trout, and a decadent wood-grilled filet mignon with bacon-Dijon vinaigrette.

For those looking to indulge, the Cabernet burger is a must-try, perfectly pairing the rich flavors of the wine with a juicy patty. The restaurant also offers a selection of cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages for those who prefer not to partake in wine.

Brunch, Lunch, and Dinner Options

Sixty Vines will cater to a variety of dining preferences, offering brunch on weekends and lunch and dinner throughout the week. The new location features a spacious dining room, flexible private dining and greenhouse spaces, and a patio with full bar service, providing a versatile setting for different occasions.

General Manager Abner Sandoval and Executive Chef Carla Verduzco will lead the local team, ensuring a high-quality dining experience for San Antonio residents and visitors alike.

Expanding the Sixty Vines Experience

With the opening of the San Antonio location, Sixty Vines will have a total of 17 locations nationwide, including 5 in Texas. This expansion reflects the growing popularity of the concept, which has been well-received in other states such as Florida, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.

Jeff Carcara CEO of Sixty Vines, expressed enthusiasm about the new location, stating, “San Antonio is one of the best food cities in Texas, and people here have a real appreciation for gathering around the table. We can’t wait to introduce the community to our seasonal menu and 60 wines on tap. It’s all designed to make discovering wine fun and approachable.”

As the grand opening approaches, wine enthusiasts and food lovers in San Antonio can look forward to a unique dining experience that combines the best of wine country with the vibrant energy of La Cantera.
