A Severe Flood Warning is in effect for Brazos, Grimes, and Madison Counties in Texas, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The warning is active until June 25, 2026, at 4:00 PM CDT.
The warning affects the Navasota River near Normangee. Minor flooding is occurring, and moderate flooding is forecast. The river is expected to rise to a crest of 18.5 feet late this evening and then fall below flood stage early Thursday morning.
At 18.0 feet, moderate lowland flooding begins, with widespread inundation of the floodplain and Long Trussel Road in northeast Brazos County becoming inundated. The current stage is 17.0 feet, with bankfull stage at 12.0 feet and flood stage at 15.0 feet.
In case of an emergency, dial 911. Follow guidance from the NWS and local authorities. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or through flooded areas.
