A Severe Flood Watch is in effect for northern Texas through Sunday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The watch includes Archer, Baylor, Clay, Foard, Hardeman, Knox, Wichita and Wilbarger counties.

The watch is in effect from June 6, 2026, 13:53 CDT until June 7, 2026, 18:00 CDT.

A Flood Watch indicates that conditions may develop that lead to flooding. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.

In case of an emergency, dial 911. The NWS advises residents to monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. Avoid walking or driving through flooded areas and move to higher ground if necessary.
