A Severe Flood Warning is in effect for Williamson County, Texas, until 4:18PM CDT on June 6, 2026. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued this alert for the South Fork San Gabriel River at Georgetown.
The warning indicates that minor flooding is occurring and forecast. The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.8 feet early this morning and then fall below flood stage early this morning. Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
At 9.0 feet, minor lowland flooding reaches low areas of the floodplain and overtops pedestrian bridges of the San Gabriel Park in Georgetown. Residents of the lowest homes in the floodplain above Georgetown to Granger Lake should monitor NOAA Weather Radio for developing heavy rain and flood conditions. At 13.0 feet, moderate lowland flooding inundates secondary roads and low water crossings from above Georgetown to Lake Granger.
In case of an emergency, dial 911. Follow the guidance of the National Weather Service and local authorities. Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
